The World’s Oldest Pharmacy

How can you not love the stunning beauty of this ancient place?

Founded by Dominican monks in 1221 (that’s 800 years ago!!), the Officina Profuma-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella still crafts beautiful fragrances, remedies and herbal products. Indeed, the products are fabulous, such an olfactory delight. But I am still most impressed by the physical beauty of the interiors which include two cloisters, a museum and works by numerous famous artists. And the delightful scent throughout this large beautiful building! And, to be honest, the kinda creepy looking pics of the old monks!
