Siena Part 1 - I Climbed the Duomo!!

Still stinging a bit from my failure to complete the Duomo climb in Florence, but knowing that my knees are still grateful for that, I was thrilled this morning to complete the climb to the top of the cathedral dome in Siena.

And it was great! Not only the views to the Tuscan horizons, but the views inside the cathedral from above. Gorgeous!!

When I first saw this cathedral with its extensive black and white theme, I thought it looked rather garish. I still haven’t really warmed to that. But they did such amazing things with the tile floors. Really beautiful!
